Your cruises on the Saône will give you a feeling of freedom,
whether because of the magnificient scenery, or because of the forest
backdrop to the rolling hills lining the Saône valley.
- A walk through the sloping picturesque streets of the small town of
Gray will reveal all its charms and lead you to its wonderful old
wash house, its basilica and many museums.
- In Ray-sur-Saône, a wonderful towering fortified castle,
rebuilt in the 18th-century will offer you a magnificient setting for
perfect photographs.
- On the East Canal
- When you leave Scey-sur-Saône you will be able to
pass through its beautiful forest and indulge in the various water
sports.
- The little village of Fontenoy-le-Château, which
was a walled town in bygone days will charm visitors with its
waterfront houses decorated with flowers.
- At Epinal you will enter the Vosges departement (
French administrative area similar to a country ). Your visit
to the old town will lead you to the castle and thence to the
famous collection of prints.

when you set your eyes upon Châteauneuf-en-Auxois, its fortified
castle and its 15th- and 16th-century residences.
- In this rural setting, you will discover the cistercian abbey and
the small Roman church of La bussière-sur-Ouche.

Your route will start on the Rhône-Rhin canal and will join
the Doubs after Dole.
- Dole is a medium-sized town and was the capital of
Franche-Comté. It was also the birthplace of Louis Pasteur
whose house is situated near the port. You will also be able to
see Notre Dame College, the Hôtel Dieu and the museum.
- Besançon is the capital of watchmaking and
precision engineering and was voted the greenest town in France.
In addition to visiting the citadel the Art and Folklore museums
is worth a visit as is the aquarium in the Natural History Museum.
