Haute Savoie

The Northern part of the historic Savoie, whose climate is due to its tough geography. The climate is humid and bracing in altitude while the land is snow covered for many months of the year. These are signs of a real moody place.
Situated between 500 and 2000 meters, the county of Haute-Savoie has a large variety of view points and panoramas with, very often, the Mont Blanc as ultimate backdrop. Through lacustrian or mountainous towns such as Chamonix or Annecy, tourism in Haute-Savoie has obtained a major recognition.
Lines of communication are built upon reliable rail and road networks to drive by the shores of Lake Leman (Thonon/Evian), near big resorts (Mégève) or to international airports (Geneva). Stimulated by the Swiss and Italian frontier, Haute- Savoie is, without any doubts one of the most dynamic counties in the Rhône-Alpes region.
