Situated east of the massif central, looking down upon the Rhône Valley, the county
as a wide range of activities such as fishing, cultural visits
(from monuments to prehistoric sites), resorts of spa-towns, thanks to its largely
diversify geography. Ardèche takes its touristic vocation seriously.
Agriculture is still a major activity and all the energy of the county is dedicated to the
exploitation of traditional sectors to foster potentialities. Owing to hundreds
of charming villages, numerous gorges (some are more than 35 km long) and
awesome caves (Chauvet Pont d'Arc for example), Ardèche is proud of its tradition.
