The property of three Dukes of Burgundy, this typical Burgundian manor
was built during the Xth century on an excellent site. Remodeled in the
XVIIIth century, it now has an intimate warmth.

Behind the fortifications are found old houses grouped around a church. The castle, enhanced with towers in the XIIth century, and refurbished in the XVII century, holds the arifacts of Condé, Madame de Sévigné, and the family which has lived there for 300 years.

Built in 1379 by Marguerite de Beaujeu, the Château de Bourbilly
is surrounded by a beautiful park, painted by Alphand, in a glen of the
Serein adored by Lamartine. It knew an elegant renaissance during the Age
of Romaniticism. Remaining with the Rabutins, Sainte Jeanne de Chantal
and her daughter, the Marquise de Sévigné exhibited tastefully
decorated murals. There is also an unique collection of Venetian crystal.

Phone: 03.80.49.23.67 This "palace of stone on a mirror of water" has been in the same family for 600 years. It has a unique collection of heraldic tapestries presenting the family coat of arms, as well as statues, furniture and other decorations collected between the 16th and 18th centuries. |
