The melodious babble of the fountains. And, not far from the bustle of the town
centre, the special atmosphere of country-houses, the art of lovely gardens.
This house also has a history. When Paul Cézanne set up his easel here, its charm
was already intact. And still is.
In the midst of a French-style pork garden covering two and half acres,
the XVIIIth century country house, which Paul Cézanne loved so dearly, has
today become a hotel. Since 1924, the same family has welcomed guests. With
warmth and hospitality you won't find elsewhere. All the comforts of today
combined with beautiful objects and a host of souvenirs.
And those miraculous gardens! So near and yet so far from the town!
Cool mornings, shady noons, warmer hours... How can one describe such enchanting
moments. Harmony, plenitude?...
From the Pigonnet's gardens, there's a magnificent view of Aix's
magic mountain, La Sainte Victoire. As if the house, with all the blessings of
Provence, had been imagined as a retreat, a place of rest. Inspiration for your
pens and paint-brushes!
